Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
This young man has been referred to the St Vincent de Paul team after serving time in prison. Prior to his incarceration, he endured the loss of both parents, which has deeply affected him. Currently, this young man experiences sleep disturbances and frequent crying spells as he copes with his past traumas. We are seeking your support to provide him with bereavement counselling and to purchase a running kit, which has served as a source of solace for him amidst his grief.

Total needed £200This individual, who has been referred to our organisation, is facing significant mental health challenges. Total needed £200This family regrettably missed an appointment with the Home Office, leading to the withdrawal of their asylum claim. Although the council offered housing for the parents and two younger siblings, the two older girls were considered non-vulnerable and did not receive assistance. It's distressing to envision these girls facing the prospect of homelessness. We urgently seek your help in providing housing for this young girl for four nights while the necessary steps are taken.

Total needed £200This young lady came to the St Vincent de Paul (SVP) centre in a precarious situation. She had to leave her husband, due to violence directed towards her and her children. The SVP team is actively supporting her and the children, making referrals to appropriate personnel. Additionally, mum has mobility issues and is currently confined to her home. We urgently request food support and a phone to allow her to make calls and for applications for support.

Total needed £175This lady is a Christians Against Poverty client who ran up large debts following the death of her mother in Nigeria. Her driveway needs repairs, as it is dangerous to pedestrians. This lady cannot currently afford to make these essential repairs, which is causing extra distress, in addition to dealing with grief and the stress of other debts.

Total needed £180This fifty four year old client of the Sue Lambert Trust is on Universal Credit, but his income is low, due to the under occupancy charge, and he doesn't feel mentally strong enough to consider moving to alleviate this. Our client has just enough coming in to pay rent and bills, but no money left over to buy food and so eats very little. He is hoping to use some of his pension in July to start up a business to alleviate money worries, but will have a very low income until then. Some help to buy food would be appreciated.

Total needed £120Our client recently moved to the area, fleeing domestic violence. Unfortunately, she wasn't supported during this at all. She had to take out a loan to cover the moving costs. The client is disabled and so needs an orthopaedic mattress, which we are funding through other avenues. Her current bed frame is falling apart and so we would like to get her a new one. To top things off, due to the move her benefits have changed from the previous system to Universal Credit, which has caused a period of time with no money.

Total needed £185This lady has recently escaped domestic abuse and has been given housing. She only works a few hours a week and is really struggling to make ends meet. She is a bit behind with her electric bill and would like to get this rectified as this is causing her a lot of worry. A gift of £150 would help her immensely. I have referred her to Christians Against Poverty to help her with her outstanding debt. Please could you help her? Thank you.
