Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
The client was referred to us by their Support Worker after they had been struggling in their current accommodation. This individual is an asylum seeker who currently does not have any access to public funds. They are working part-time and struggling to pay for bills, expenses and food, as well as travel expenses. They have been offered a new flat which is much better and more economical. The client has already managed to save most of the deposit, but would be grateful for the remaining £200, which would help them with their fresh start.
Still £120 left to donate
Total needed £170This client was referred to us for support after they had been living in refugee accommodation over the last twelve months. They have now got a job and are slowly, but surely, managing to integrate into the local community after having to flee their own country, due to war. They have been offered a new flat, however, they are struggling to afford furniture to make their house a home. This support for couches would enable the client to finish furnishing their living room and finally be able to have a fresh start.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200S is a refugee who has been living in Lancaster for a while. He has been going through very difficult times which have affected his mental health and his ability to work and learn. Through encouragement and support, he now wants to take the first steps to look after himself and achieve additional certificates in order to find a job. For S to access online courses and learning, he would hugely benefit from having a tablet. Thank you for any help you might be able to give.
