Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

Total needed £150I had a lovely chat with this client who was placed in temporary accommodation in early 2022. Her case was overlooked and she was deemed as not a housing need, eventually becoming homeless. In 2024, our client was picked up by Streetlink and placed in St Mungo's for a week. She was then moved to a winter shelter which was not suitable for her medical needs. This lady has finally found suitable housing, but is in need of furniture. She said a double mattress would be really great. Thank you for your support.

Total needed £175K has a problem with severe mould in her flat, which has affected her health and her bed, and she is currently sleeping on the sofa. She receives Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment, but a very low amount which barely covers costs. K has a number of health conditions including a knee injury, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and anxiety. The council is currently working on the mould condition in the flat and we are requesting £200 for a new bed for when the mould condition is sorted. Thank you for your help.

Total needed £200This lady, who has four children, struggles with her mental health and receives Universal Credit and Employment and Support Allowance. Her washing machine no longer works and she is looking for support to get a replacement. A gift of £200 would be greatly appreciated and enable her to look after herself and the children.

Total needed £200This young gentleman has approached us because he is in need of a fridge freezer. He does work some hours for The Fire Service, but his wage is low and it only covers the basics. He has separated from his wife and now shares custody with her, having the children 50% of the time. This young gentleman is without many of the essentials household appliances needed, including a cooker and fridge freezer. He is currently saving the small amount of money he has for a cooker, however he can't afford a fridge freezer too. Please can you help?

Total needed £155Help is needed for a mum of three to replace her broken fridge freezer. This lady has health problems and is undergoing more tests for a problem with her vision. She is unable to work and has received help from the local foodbank. Unfortunately, mum has no savings and her low income from Universal Credit means she is unable to save enough to replace her fridge and freezer. Having to buy fresh food daily for her family is very expensive and a replacement fridge freezer would make a huge difference.

Total needed £200P, who has fled domestic abuse with two young children, is homeless in a temporary hotel and will be moving into rented housing next week. She is being supported by domestic abuse charities and local authority housing. Struggling financially, P has just made a claim for Universal Credit, but receives no income currently. Due to financial abuse, she is unable to access joint funds and has had debt run up in her name without her knowledge. P is being supported by a local charity for furniture, but needs a fridge freezer for the new home. Thank you for any donations.

Total needed £200D has been living in shared/supported accommodation for many years, but has recently managed to secure full-time employment in the catering industry (he is a qualified chef). Due to living in supported accommodation, he can only work sixteen hours a week or he will be evicted. D has been able to obtain a one bedroom flat which he will move into on the 26th May. It is partially furnished, but does not have a bed or a wardrobe. Please could we request donations to obtain a bed, mattress and a wardrobe for him?
